Stormy Daniels Takes Stand in Trump Hush-money Trial

Stormy Daniels finally made her way to the witness stand in Trump’s hush-money case, and it sure did set off some fireworks.

All while she was testifying, Trump surrogates, including his sons, were firing off posts on X about blackmail and extortion.

Meanwhile, Daniels was telling a story inside the court that made Trump appear more like a predator than a casual fling.

Daniels Tells Her Tale

It is still baffling to me that Judge Merchan allowed prosecutors to take a deep dive into the alleged details of the affair.

After the fact, when Trump’s attorneys made a motion for a mistrial, Merchan conceded that some of the details would have been better off not heard, but it was cause enough for a mistrial, with prosecutors arguing the details were needed to lend credence to Daniel’s credibility.

Daniels testified that she had shown up to Trump’s room and Trump was in his pajamas when she entered.

After some small talk, she claims to have gone to the bathroom, only to come out to see Trump on the bed in his boxers (Daniels has repeatedly claimed on social media that Trump was in his “tighty whiteys”).

Daniels then claimed that she had a horrible feeling of having misread the situation, but was also intimidated by Trump and his power.

She did not accuse Trump of sexual assault, but in the accounts I have seen, she more or less implied that she only had sex with Trump because she was overwhelmed by the situation.

She also detailed the conversations, saying that Trump compared her to his daughter Ivanka and told her that he and Melania were sleeping in different rooms now.

According to jury observations, there was the belief that some details left them amused while others left them disgusted.

To me, this seemed more about having the jury have the opinion that Trump was a dirtball rather than anything to actually do with the charges against Trump.

Needless to say, Trump has had better days in court.

I don’t know how much Daniels actually helped Bragg’s case other than to taint the jury’s opinion of Trump. However, it really could help make Trump's appeal case stronger, so all was not lost on the day.
