Stefanik Takes Over as Betting-odds Favorite for Trump VP

There has been a lot of buzz lately about who will be Donald Trump’s VP.

If you like betting futures, the current leader of the pack is Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.).

I, however, believe they got it wrong, so we will go over the top candidates to figure this out.

The Favorites

The favorite, as noted above, is Elise Stefanik, who I believe would be a big mistake.

Sportsbooks now have her as the 4:1 favorite, but I question what she would actually bring to Trump in a presidential race.

Biden recently swung the gender race back in his face, but I just don’t see Stefanik attracting a lot of female voters, so, even at 4:1, I am looking elsewhere to place my wager.

That brings us to Governor Kristi Noem, who is a close second at 5:1, and is someone that a few months ago I would have thought was a lock for VP for Trump, but the situation has changed rather dramatically due to polling.

While I do think Noem would draw in more women voters, she again lacks the punch that Trump will need to make a difference, so I am going to pass on Noem as well.

In third place is the grifter and snake oil salesman, Vivek Ramaswamy. About a week ago, Trump called him a “fraud” and “not MAGA,” then Ramaswamy dropped out and endorsed Trump, and now all of MAGA loves him again.

If Trump wants a grifter, con artist, and conspiracy theorist as his number two, by all means, Vivek is the right guy, but I think he would wind up repelling far more voters than drawing in, so I am going to pass on Vivek at 7:1.

That brings us to my pick, Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who is currently sitting at 9:1 odds, a very nice return for your money.

First and foremost, if there is someone who will draw in the DeSantis voters who were alienated by Trump surrogates on social media, Scott will be the one to mend those fences.

There is also the fact that Trump’s numbers among minority voters soar if he has a black candidate on his ticket as the VP.

We also have to look at the idea of the number two running the country if Trump has to step down for any reason, and I think most people are far more comfortable with Scott than anyone I have mentioned so far, especially Ramaswamy.

So, I am going with Scott at 9:1… you can thank me for the extra vacation money when you cash in that ticket.
