Piers Morgan: Trump Should Risk Arrest to go to Barron’s Graduation

Fox News contributor Piers Morgan is now handing out legal advice to Donald Trump.

This week, Judge Merchan ruled that he would have to wait and see where the trial stood before agreeing to allow Trump to take a day off from court to attend Barron’s high school graduation.

Morgan advised him to risk going to jail not to miss out on his son’s big day.

Going to the Big House

Since this is a criminal case, Donald Trump is required to be in court every day that court is in session.

When Merchan refused to commit to the time away from court, Trump went ballistic on Merchan at a press conference after court as well as on his Truth Social account.

Trump has been blasting Merchan from the very first day he was assigned to this case, so I don’t know why people were so surprised that Merchan took the opportunity to get some revenge against Trump.

Even so, Morgan recommended skipping the trial and possibly going to jail, mostly because he seemed to think this would politically benefit Trump.

Morgan stated, "Donald Trump should go to his son's graduation … go to the graduation. Honestly, if you're watching, President Trump, just go to the graduation. Every parent in America, whether they like you or hate you, will go, 'Yeah, I'd have done that, too.'"

Fox News host Jesse Watters likened the Trump case to that of Bill Clinton paying Paula Jones $850,000, saying that Trump is receiving far more scrutiny than Clinton did in what is a very similar situation.

Watters then made an election prediction, stating, "If this judge says he can't attend Barron's high school graduation, [Trump] wins in a landslide. He'll win California if that happens."

That is ridiculous because Trump has no chance of winning California. And based on the reaction to the announcement on social media, the support they believe Trump will get is a bit overestimated.

One of the more common hits against Trump that I saw was people calling it “karma” and “justice” that Trump was getting a taste of what many Americans experienced after the lockdown was announced for COVID, with many people not able to attend graduations, funerals, or weddings.

As Barron’s graduation date gets closer, I fully expect Merchan to allow Trump to attend simply for the fact I do not believe he wants to allow Trump to appear to be a martyr here, something Trump has been very good at playing, especially in driving fundraising.
