New York AG Drops the Hammer on Former NRA CEO

New York Attorney General Letitia James continues her selective prosecution of conservatives.

The latest is the former CEO of the National Rifle Association.

According to the latest reports, Wilson Phillips has received a 10-year ban on managing the funds for the organization.

Blocked

The NRA has been under fire for quite some time for allegedly using member funds to help bankroll the “extravagant” lifestyle of Wayne LaPierre.

For his alleged role in this scandal, Phillips has been banned from managing the funds of the organization.

In addition to his ban, Phillips has been ordered to repay about $2 million “to the NRA for his role in concealing and enabling LaPierre’s lavish spending.”

LaPierre has also been ordered to repay the organization a total of $4.4 million to the NRA.

New York Attorney General Letitia James took a victory lap on the order, stating, “New Yorkers deserve to know that when they support a not-for-profit, those donations are being used to advance its mission, not squandered on lavish perks for staff or cronies.

“For decades, Wilson Phillips oversaw and allowed financial mismanagement and corruption at the NRA, and that is why the jury found him, the NRA, and his co-defendants, senior executives Wayne LaPierre and John Frazer, liable for their misconduct.

“Today’s agreement should serve as an example that my office will hold anyone, and everyone, involved in abusing their power or misappropriating funds accountable.”

Phillips agreed to the ban after losing his case in a jury verdict.

According to AP, “The settlement means that Phillips, now retired, won’t have to participate in next week’s second phase of a trial in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil lawsuit against the NRA and former top executives.”

This is clearly a big blow to conservatives, who have faithfully defended the NRA over the years for its fight against the liberal effort to destroy the Second Amendment.

It just seems that everyone and anyone associated with anything political these days is corrupt.
