Hunter’s Addictions Will Be Back in Limelight During Second Trial
For the last few months, Harris and the Democrats have had clear sailing, but that is all about to change on several fronts.
The honeymoon phase for Harris appears to be over, but that is not the only complication.
The second criminal trial of her boss’s son, Hunter Biden, is about to begin, and all this dirty laundry is about to be aired out to the American people.
Let’s Hear It
Hunter Biden has tried to use his addictions to get him out of trouble for not paying his taxes, but the judge is not buying it.
Not only that, but after Hunter’s legal team tried to have any evidence of Hunter’s addictions tossed, the judge ruled the evidence was in, so Hunter’s exploits are going to be all over the media as we head into the big debate next week between Harris and Trump.
Hunter allegedly withheld at least $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019.
During that period, Hunter was getting drunk and doing all sorts of drugs, including crack, while spending time with female escorts.
Hunter’s attorneys are accusing Special Counsel David Weiss of “character assassination,” which is comical, considering Hunter has no character.
Defense attorney Mark Geragos stated, “They want to slime him because that is the whole purpose.”
Prosecuting attorney Leo Wise responded, “He describes partying in hotels with a cast of strippers.
“He chose to pay them, which is fine — it’s America, you can do that. But then he chose to take it as a business deduction.”
U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi agreed with prosecutors, stating, “The Court generally agrees with the Government that evidence of the precise nature of Mr. Biden’s expenditures is necessary for the jury’s assessment of Mr. Biden’s state of mind at least as to Counts 6 through 8.”
The judge also ruled that Hunter cannot make excuses for his addictions, as his defense had hoped to use Beau Biden’s death and the car accident that killed his mother as the reason he went down this rabbit hole.
The judge stated, “Evidence of the causes of Mr. Biden’s addiction is irrelevant, and neither party may elicit such evidence or refer to any alleged causes of Mr. Biden’s addiction in the opening statements.”
Hunter lost his first case, and sentencing for that is just after the election on November 13.
Jury selection is slated to begin on September 5, and the trial is set for opening statements on September 9.
