GOP Turns Up Head on Columbia University President to Resign

Columbia President Minouche Shafik may be on her last breath in terms of being able to keep her job.

Over the last few weeks, big-money donors have pulled their support for the school based on protests that Shafik has allowed to take place.

Shafik was in the spotlight this week on the Hill, and Republicans made it clear they would not rest until they had her resignation.

Too Woke

Columbia has become a hotbed of sorts for anti-Israel protests.

The school made national headlines when Shafik was forced to call in the police to remove protesters who did not even attend the school, among them the daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

Shafik got roasted while testifying before committee in the House.

Rep. Stefanik (R-N.Y.) led the charge, stating, “It is time for Columbia University to turn the page on this shameful chapter. This can only be done through the restoration of order and your prompt resignation.

“We, the undersigned members, urge you to step down immediately so that someone who will take action against this mob can step up to meet the moment this crisis demands.”

House Republicans, as a group, penned a letter to Shafik, holding her accountable for the issues on the Columbia campus, most notably Jewish students feeling so unsafe, many of them are now going remote.

The letter, in part, stated, “As the leader of this institution, one of your chief objectives, morally and under law, is to ensure students have a safe learning environment. By every measure, you have failed this obligation.

“While the rot is systemic, the responsibility rests squarely on your shoulders.”

Shafik has returned to campus, and the situation continues to get worse instead of better.

After the encampment was removed, it was back, and much larger.

Rather than removing the protesters, the entire school has gone remote, more or less turning over the campus of students paying more than $60,000 per year to attend to these anti-Israel protesters.

There is no way to sugarcoat this… these people are supporting terrorists, and they must be removed.

And the fact that Shafik is allowing this to happen is despicable.

This is not free speech; this is terrorism, and it must be removed from the campus, and the GOP is right… Shafik must be removed as president.
