Former Boston K-9 Officer Pleads Guilty to J6 Charges

Yet another January 6 defendant has decided to plead guilty rather than take his chances in court.

Former Boston K-9 Police Officer Joseph Robert Fisher, 52, pleaded guilty to assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain police officers, obstruction of law enforcement during a civil disorder, entering and remaining in a restricted building, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, acts of physical violence on the Capitol grounds and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.

Fisher was identified by a fellow Boston Police Officer via video during in surveillance video of the riot.

Guilty...

Fisher is one of more than 1,200 people who were charged related to the events that took place on January 6, 2021.

So far, those who have taken their cases to court have been hammered by judges, both Democrat and Republican, for their actions.

My guess here is that even though Fisher pleaded guilty, he is hoping his plea will get a more lenient sentence from the judge.

Reports stated that his sentencing is now set for May 24, 2024.

According to court documents, Fisher pushed a chair into a Capitol Police Officer inside the Capitol as the officer was pursuing another rioter.

He then “engaged in a physical assault” against the police officer, with Fisher eventually taken to the ground by police.

Fisher was arrested in March, and Judge Randolph D. Moss will rule at the sentencing hearing.

Moss served as the United States Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel during the Clinton administration.

He was appointed to the bench in 2014 by Barack Obama.

If I were Fisher, I would not expect to get any favorable treatment, as Democrat-appointed judges have been handing out particularly lengthy sentences, especially for those where violent actions were proven to have taken place, plea deal or not.
