Fani Willis a No-show at Debate

The hits just keep coming for Fulton County DA Fani Willis.

It would appear that Fani has no real desire to hold onto her position, that is unless she is just banking on voters aimlessly pulling the handle for her again.

Willis recently did a no-show at a debate, leaving her opponent to debate the issues against an empty podium.

Better Things to Do

Willis surely thought she would be a lock after bringing her RICO case against Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants.

The co-defendants, however, were just collateral damage, as became evident when Willis started to dish out deals to everyone.

She could care less if anyone else does a single day, as long as she gets Trump’s head on a platter.

A wrench was thrown into that plan when the defendants started to challenge Willis in the case on the premise that she had hired her lover on as one of the prosecutors.

Eventually, Judge McAfee ordered that Willis could stay on the case, but the prosecutor in question, Nathan Wade, had to be removed.

Willis, as expected, started to play the race and female card to defend herself against the allegations, but few legal experts on either side of the aisle took up for her in the cases against her.

Fulton County DA candidate Christian Wise Smith took no time to bring this all up during his one-man debate, stating, "That issue is important to us in Fulton County and a lot of people across the country.

"When you pay one attorney nearly $1 million to handle one case, that leaves the rest of us vulnerable. That hurts everyone in Fulton County.”

Smith did not attack Willis on taking the case, but he did say that Willis needs to “do things differently.”

Willis and Smith will face off on May 28 in the Democrat primary race, but I would have to think this is not something that voters will appreciate.

Willis is, however, leading in polling, so perhaps she took her lead from Trump and Biden in the presidential primaries, figuring with her lead, there is simply no reason to debate a competitor.

We will never know, though, because Willis’ office has not returned calls for comments on why she skipped the debate.
