National Guardsmen Perish In Mississippi Helicopter Crash

Tragedy has struck in Mississippi after a routine training flight turned deadly.

Two national guardsmen crashed their helicopter and lost their lives.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to share the news with his followers.

“Tragically, both Guardsmen on board did not survive. Safety crews are currently working the scene of the crash with local authorities. Mississippi will always be grateful for their service and we will never forget them,” Reeves said in his post.

Sadly, helicopter crashes are a more frequent occurrence in the military then some may realize.

This is not even the first crash to happen in recent days.

Five other service members died just weeks ago near San Diego after their helicopter crashed into a mountain range.

All of the victims of that crash were only in their 20s.

The commanding officer of those five marines, Nicholas Harvey, also released a statement.

“We have been confronted with a tragedy that is every service family’s worst fear. The Flying Tigers family stands strong and includes the friends and community who have supported our squadron during this challenging time. We will get through this together,” Harvey said.

All of this tragic news is evidence of one thing: there is no greater sacrifice than someone who is willing to lay down his life for his country.

The people living in this country who appear to lack respect for our military and first responders need to understand that.

These men and women put their lives on the line EVERY DAY to protect the citizens of America.
Even just training can be fatal.

We pray for peace and comfort for the families of the victims of both crash during this tragic time.

May we never take living in this country or the price of freedom for granted.
