Actress-Model Isha Koppikar Confirms Divorce
One of the more popular celebrities in India, Isha Koppikar, has confirmed that she and her husband Timmy Narang, have filed for divorce.
The two were married in 2009 after having known each other for about three years.
They share a 9-year-old daughter, Rianna, who was born in July 2014.
Parting Ways
According to reports, the couple met at a local gym and eventually fell in love, getting married in 2009.
The marriage has apparently been on the rocks for some time, with Narang stating that they have been contemplating divorce for about 18 months.
He stated, "After contemplating divorce for almost a year and a half, we proceeded to file for it. The divorce was granted in November last year and it was on amicable terms. Both of us are now free to move on with our lives, which is a fact.
“So, I don't see why there should be any confusion regarding that. While I haven't read the latest report, considering the legal option isn't even an option because the divorce has already come through. It's as simple as that."
Koppikar reportedly moved out of the home and has custody of their daughter.
Koppikar’s career got started in college as a model, doing ads for L'Oréal, Rexona, Camay, Tips & Toes, and Coca-Cola.
She competed for Miss India in 1995, then started her acting career, starring in “W/o V. Vara Prasad” in 1997.
She was the co-star of “Kadhal Kavidhai,” winning the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.
