GOP Rep. Says Cheney’s Actions on J6 Committee Unethical

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-MT) may be out of Congress, but her problems may just be starting.

Rep. Ben Loudermilk (R-GA), the Chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, is making some very serious allegations against her.

Loudermilk believes that Cheney’s reported contact with a J6 witness was unethical and possibly illegal.

Breaking the Rules

Reports surfaced this week of text messages directly between Cheney and start witness, Cassidy Hutchinson, a former staffer for Mark Meadows.

Cheney appears to have manipulated Cassidy to the point of having her change attorneys to one of Cheney’s people, then helped craft her hearsay testimony at the committee hearing that blew up all over TV.

Loudermilk addressed the new reports, stating, “Well, the main issue is exactly what you just laid out, that you have a member of Congress who is an attorney, who knows— I'm not an attorney, but I know at least you know some of the basics of attorney-client privilege and representation — that it's unethical, if not, in some cases illegal, you know, that you cannot have conversations or meetings with someone who already has representation without that attorney present.”

He added, “Now keep in mind [Hutchinson] had already testified two times and really didn't give him anything, and I think they were searching for something else.

“And it was only after they fired Stefan Passantino and brought on the new attorney that all of these other sensational claims came out.”

He now believes that Cheney clearly violated rules, but it may go much further than that.

Loudermilk added, “I think there's no doubt in that with what we've recently uncovered, I think it was clear that [chamber rules were] violated by either the chairman of the committee, Benny Thompson, or the vice chair, Liz Cheney, in the fact of all the documents that were hidden from the American people were hid from this committee and or were deleted and destroyed.

“I think that in itself, besides violating preservation rules of the House and official US government documents, that provision right there was totally violated. So I think we have numerous violations of protocol, of ethics, possibly even law.”

This is clearly something that will be investigated, and I can already hear how this will be pitched by Democrats.

Cheney is already pushing the narrative that Trump will have his political enemies arrested, but this could be why.

She knows she may have legitimately broken the law, so why not start pushing the narrative now that this is a weaponization of the DOJ?
