Montana Business Owner Gets 2 Years in Prison for Role in Jan. 6 Unrest
Henry Phillip “Hank” Muntzer, a small business owner from Montana has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for his role in the Jan. 6 2021 Capitol demonstrations.
In addition to his two years, Muntzer was sentenced to a year of supervised release and ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution in his sentencing on Thursday.
Muntzer was arrested two weeks after the protest based on social media posts and videos taken inside the Capitol, and he faced charges of obstructing an official proceeding and civil disorder, both felonies.
In addition to his two felony charges, Muntzer was also charged and found guilty of four misdemeanor charges.
Muntzer's charge of obstructing an official proceeding was dropped after the U.S. Supreme Court issued a decision in June that rebuked the leftist prosecutors who were trying to push that charge on dozens of protestors.
Political Prosecutions Alleged
Muntzer is the latest conservative protestor to feel the wrath of government prosecutors in Washington, D.C. eager to punish those who participated in the Jan. 6 rally, which spiraled out of control and turned into a riot.
Many of those who were arrested faced a litany of civil rights violations and conditions at the jails where protestors were held, some of which have been compared to political prison camps.
Prosecutors accused Muntzer and a group of friends of traveling to Washington to attend the “Stop the Steal” rally at the Capitol.
Once there, Muntzer reportedly joined the crowd and eventually ended up inside the Capitol itself where he spent about 38 minutes inside. Prosecutors claimed he was involved in physical altercations with officers.
He was also allegedly one of the last protestors to leave the building, but ultimately it wasn't the severity of his crimes that mattered to prosecutors.
At the end of the day, Muntzer and other conservatives who protested that day stood in opposition to the progressive machine, and so liberal prosecutors threw the book at them and did everything possible to ruin their lives.
No Fair Trials
Hundreds of protestors have been sentenced since the protest and it's not a stretch to say that not one of those protestors has had a fair trial due to the far-left prosecutors and population in D.C.
Democrats spent all summer of 2020 encouraging massive race-centric protests that caused billions in damage and destroyed cities. Those same Democrats then went on to demonize conservative protestors at the Capitol as "insurrectionists" for years.
Even with the Supreme Court having to intervene and smack down political prosecutions, some protestors still had their lives ruined and their civil rights violated in an egregious manner.
Multiple individuals ended up committing suicide after having to go up against the grinding machine. Should Trump win the election in November, one of his top priorities should be sorting out the persecution of Jan. 6 protestors and holding leftists accountable.
