Former Baltimore DA Requests Pardon from Joe Biden

Recently, Joe Biden published a list of pardons that his office was granting, giving 16 former drug dealers a fresh start.

These were not marijuana dealers but people who were dealing coke, meth, and heroin, some of them around schools.

So, former Baltimore DA Marilyn Mosby figured, why not ask for a pardon while the iron is hot?

Free Pass

Even on the campaign trail, Joe Biden had talked about pardoning marijuana offenders, but the latest round of pardons are hardly people that got caught buying a dime bag of weed on the corner.

It was shocking, really, that the GOP did not make more of this when the details of the pardon were given.

That aside, Mosby is now asking Joe Biden to let her off the hook as well.

Mosby is staring down the barrel of spending decades in jail for perjury and mortgage fraud.

But if you ask Mosby, she has done “absolutely nothing wrong, nothing illegal, nothing criminal.”

Mosby has already been convicted on charges levied for having withdrawn money from her city retirement account as well as falsifying her mortgage application on a home she bought in Florida with the money she had taken out.

She is due to be sentenced later this month.

Mosby, while asking Biden for the pardon, has not formally applied for a pardon.

When she was asked about the issue, Mosby stated, “I know that I've done absolutely nothing wrong, nothing criminal, and to be separated from my children for 40 years as a result of withdrawing $90,000 of my own money, it just makes absolutely no sense.

“They have done this to demonize me, to vilify me, and to break me... I've lost everything.”

If the judge throws the book at her, Mosby could find herself in jail for the next 40 years, but I doubt anyone expects the judge to go that far in this case.

There is no way, politically speaking, Joe Biden can pardon this woman without Donald Trump erupting like a volcano when you consider Trump just lost a fraud case in New York for allegedly overstating his assets to secure better terms for loans.
