Zelensky says roughly half of aid missing from Biden administration
Donald Trump recently dropped the hammer on Ukraine, telling President Zelensky that he wants the country’s minerals to pay back the loans it was given from the United States.
Well, Zelensky just threw a wrench into the system by claiming that Ukraine received only about half of the $175 billion that Biden pledged to them.
So, was the money stolen on Ukraine’s end, or was Biden playing games.
Accountability
I have been hammering accountability for the aid given to Ukraine from the outset, and Zelensky just made my case for me.
On this, he stated, “When I hear – both in the past and even now – from the U.S. that America has provided Ukraine with hundreds of billions, as the president of a nation at war, I can tell you – we’ve received more than $75 billion.
“We’re talking about tangible things because this aid didn’t come as cash but rather as weapons, which amounted to about $70 billion.
“But when it’s said that Ukraine received $200 billion to support the army during the war – that’s not true. I don’t know where all that money went.
“Perhaps it’s true on paper with hundreds of different programmes – I won’t argue, and we’re immensely grateful for everything. But in reality, we received about $76 billion. It’s significant aid, but it’s not $200 billion.”
The man has no clue how much he was given, and we know there is plenty of corruption in Ukraine, so where is the money?
If I am Donald Trump, I immediately bring in Biden’s people who oversaw the distribution of the aid and tell them I want to see the paper trail of every penny and weapons supplies that were sent to Ukraine.
I would also tell Zelensky that we need to see his accounting of this as well, especially since he is claiming he never received the money.
There is corruption here, we just have to find out what side of the fence it is on, if not both.
Furthermore, where are the congressional oversight committees on all of this? This is what they get paid to oversee, yet someone clearly dropped the ball here.
Find the corruption or negligence, and hold these people accountable. I would also make it a high priority and put a realistic deadline on it because the American people deserve to know where their tax dollars are going.
