The body of a young woman was found hanging from a tree at an Austin-area high school Tuesday, leading to the campus canceling school for the day.
The discovery occurred at Travis Early College High School in South Austin, Texas, during the first week of school.

"Police and EMS responded and found a female body hanging from a tree near the rear of the building, Sneed said. The female victim, who local medical examiners believe was between 15 and 20 years old, was pronounced dead at about 7:55 a.m.," the New York Post reported.
"She has not yet been identified and officials are waiting for medical examiners to determine her cause of death," it added.

"AISD says no students were in the area, the campus is safe and there is no danger to students or staff," Fox 26 Houston reported.
"Austin police say this case is not being investigated as a homicide," it continued.
Classes were canceled through the rest of the week, according to the report.
The school district later confirmed that an 11th-grade student was the person found dead on campus.
The body was found by workers before school and no students were taken to the campus where the body was seen.
The tragic incident that ended the life of a young person has led to many concerns for students who may need support following the loss of a classmate. Family and friends also mourn as they discover the identity of the individual after the death of someone close to them.
