I do not know a single person that would declare this year's election a success.
Even if we take the House, it will be a slim margin.
The Red Wave we were promised never happened, yet all the powers that be are being given the keys to the car again.
Scott Emerges
Kevin McCarthy has already won the nomination for Speaker of the House and Ronna McDaniel is expected to take a second term as RNC Chair.
Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), who McConnell has tried to blame for the dismal 2022 showing, is now emerging to challenge McConnell.
In announcing his challenge, Scott wrote, "I'm writing to you today because I believe it's time for the Senate Republican Conference to be far more bold and resolute than we have been in the past.
"We must start saying what we are for, not just what we are against.
"I do not believe we can simply continue to say the Democrats are radical, which they are.
"Republican voters expect and deserve to know our plan to promote and advance conservative values."
McConnell just about laughed off the challenge, stating, "I have the votes. I will be elected."
McConnell currently has a seven percent approval rate as the GOP Senate leader, yet they are going to put him into power again.
Exactly how do they expect to win in 2024 with the same people in charge?
