White House Walks Back Biden Weapons Sales Comment

Joe Biden stepped out on his own to talk to the media in Nantucket, and the White House is already doing damage control.

Biden's comments were pretty clear in that he wanted the ban all semi-automatic weapons.

On Monday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre walked it all back.

Not What He Meant

In the past, I have suggested the White House hang a ticker around Joe Biden's neck so they could translate to show the difference between what Joe Biden way saying and what he meant.

Sadly, it was not a joke.

Once again, we have an issue where Biden said something that seemed very clear, yet the White House is now telling us that is not what he really meant, going into overdrive to do cleanup.

Biden, on semi-automatic weapons, stated, "The idea we still allow semi-automatic weapons to be purchased is sick. It's just sick. It has no, no social redeeming values.

"Zero. None. Not a single, solitary rationale for it except profit for the gun manufacturer."

That seems pretty clear to me, which is why there was so much outrage after he made the comments.

Virtually every modern weapon falls into this category, which is more than likely why there were almost 200,000 background checks conducted on Black Friday for weapons sales.

When Jean-Pierre was asked about Biden’s comments, she tried to clean it up.

Reporter Philip Wegmann asked Jean-Pierre if Biden had made an error, and she responded, "No, he was, he was talking about assault weapons.

"That's what he was talking on that, on that morning or that afternoon when he was asked that question."

But the problem is that Biden has seemingly put all semi-automatic weapons into the made-up category of “assault weapons.”

It would be nice if just once it was Biden that said what he meant to say instead of the White House communications team.
