Kamala Harris made a promise that she could not keep.
Harris promised Ian relief funds would be dispensed based on equity rather than need.
The White House covered for her as best it could, but in the end, Harris got tossed right under the bus.

KJP did her usual, “what she meant to say” routine in trying to explain Harris’ gaffe.
This was Harris on the relief money and pay very close attention so you can see how much spin is coming out of the White House on this...

Jean-Pierre stated, “That is not what the vice president said.
“The vice president was clearly talking about long-term investment, not FEMA [Federal Emergency Management Aid] for hurricane response efforts.
“The vice president and the president have been clear that the federal government has been and will continue to be there for all Americans recovering from these devastating storms as we’re seeing the president and first lady do today and will see them do clearly in Florida on Wednesday.”
If it was so clear, why was everyone in such a panic?
Then came the bus, with KJP stating, “We are committed to quickly getting resources to all communities impacted, period. Full stop.
“But we also note that some people, particularly of lower income, have a hard time accessing that help.
“That’s why this administration has also made it a priority to remove barriers and ensure that everyone, regardless of their zip code, and that’s what she was talking about.”
Had Harris actually said what KJP said she said (are you still following me?), nobody would have had a problem.
By all means, start a campaign for everyone to understand what they need to do in order to get their recovery aid.
Set up stations with FEMA workers to walk them through the process.
I don’t care where you come from, most people will not have a clue what they need to do, so let’s get it set up.
But don’t sit here and tell that is what Harris was trying to say when she was, again, pandering to her audience and making up rules as she goes along.
