On Friday, all of our phones blew up with the alert that Attorney General Merrick Garland had appointed a special counsel in the Donald Trump investigations.
This was a telegraphed move, but one that still shows that this administration is going to try to take out Trump at all costs.
Even so, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre denied the administration is trying to influence decisions made by the Department of Justice.
No Influence
When asked about the appointment, KJP responded, “I will say this and I’ve said this many times before, we do not politicize the Department of Justice.
“That is something that the president said during the campaign, that is something the president said in his early days of being in the White House and that continues to be true.
“We were not involved in this particular issue … we are not involved in criminal investigations that are done independently by the Department of Justice.”

Nobody believes her, and for good reason.
We need only go back to a recent statement made by Joe Biden.
When he was asked by a reporter how he will explain to his fellow G7 members concerned about Trump running again in terms of Trump getting back into the White House, Biden stated he would use every means constitutionally available to him to disqualify Trump.
Now, I would say a DOJ indictment would fall under that umbrella.
Donald Trump also disagrees, calling it “the worst politicization of justice in our country.”
He added, “They found nothing.
“I announce and then they appoint a special prosecutor.
“Hunter Biden is a criminal many times over and nothing happens to him.
“Joe Biden is a criminal many times over — and nothing happens to them.”
On cooperating with the investigation, Donald Trump stated, “I have been going through this for six years — for six years I have been going through this, and I am not going to go through it anymore.
“I hope the Republicans have the courage to fight this.”
