Kirby Crashes and Burns on Fox News

"Fox & Friends" co-host Brian Kilmeade grilled NSC strategic communications coordinator John Kirby on the Defense Department's report alleging the Afghanistan withdrawal was a 'propaganda gift' to China.

The claim came as part of an annual report to Congress on national security related to China that was released on Tuesday.

"The PRC employed multiple diplomatic tools in an attempt to erode U.S. and partner influence," the report reads, according to Fox News, including "highlighting the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan."

"Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan was among the lowest points in his presidency, with 13 soldiers dying in a suicide bombing while protecting the Kabul airport during the evacuation," the outlet added.

House Republicans mocked the president over the report and noted its impact.

"Make no mistake: Biden's botched Afghanistan withdrawal has emboldened our adversaries," House Republicans tweeted.

"House Republicans will conduct crucial oversight of this administration's national security failures and establish a Select Committee on China in the new majority," it added.

Among the many concerns regarding the Afghanistan withdrawal was leaving behind massive amounts of U.S. military equipment, providing strong resources for the Taliban in its takeover of the nation.

The Biden administration also left behind hundreds of U.S. citizens and thousands of Afghan allies under Taliban rule.

The new report unpacks some of the damage and its consequences beyond Afghanistan, showing that the departure also makes America weaker with China and likely other nations opposing democracy.
