This administration is pretty amusing, I have to give them that.
The last bit of jocularity comes via an allegation being thrown at House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
The administration is accusing him of making backroom deals to secure the Speakership. They would also like the details of those deals.
Hypocrites
White House senior communications adviser for strategic response Andrew Bates stated, "An unprecedented tax hike on the middle class and a national abortion ban are just a glimpse of the secret, backroom deals Speaker McCarthy made with extreme MAGA members to end this month's chaotic elections and claim the gavel.
"It is well past time for Speaker McCarthy and the ultra MAGA Republican House members to come out of the dark and tell the American people, in-full, what they decided in secret.
"What other hidden bargains did Speaker McCarthy make behind closed doors with the most extreme, ultra MAGA members of the House Republican conference?
"The American people have a right to know – now – which is why we are calling on him to make every single one of them public immediately."
You know what… I am all for that, as long as the White House divulges every deal that Joe Biden has ever made in his career for power, and that would include the deals that he made to get endorsements for his White House run.
With the amount of money that Biden raised during the campaign, I can only imagine the influence that was peddled to get those checks. We can also start talking about the endorsement deal he made with Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.).
How about the promises made to Kamala Harris to get her to gush over Biden and join the ticket after accusing him of being a racist in on the debate stage.
I think it is pretty clear the deal that he made with Pete Buttigieg to get him to drop out of the race and gain his endorsement.
So, yeah, we are more than happy to have McCarthy show his hand as long as you show yours!
