Whistleblower says Zuckerberg's Meta has 'heard the message' from Trump
When it comes to the well-known social media platform, Facebook, whistleblower Frances Haugen has let fly.
According to Haugen, Mark Zuckerberg has “heard the message” from President Donald Trump!
Zuckerberg has officially announced that his company, Meta, will be removing any third-party fact-checking in addition to a few other changes pointing toward Trump’s views.
Haugen went on to say that when it comes to Trump’s beliefs on social media, “the right way to run social media is with no restrictions.”
She then spoke about the reason Zuckerberg decided to make those changes with Meta.
“The announcement from Mark is him basically saying: ‘Hey I heard the message, we will not intervene in the United States,’” Haugen explained to the Guardian.
In Zuckerberg’s video post, he said that “fact checkers have been too politically biased and have destroyed more trust than they've created.”
He did not stop there, going on to say that “what started as a movement to be more inclusive has increasingly been used to shut down opinions and shut out people with different ideas, and it's gone too far.”
It is about time Zuckerberg made some changes.
This is long overdue.
Meta and all of its social media platforms have become insanely biased in favor of the left.
Time and time again, conservatives found their voices censored or fact-checked on those platforms.
It is hard not to think Zuckerberg’s motives were not completely selfish.
Did he actually believe removing biased third-party fact-checking was the right thing to do?
Or did the social media guru simply want to avoid backlash from Donald Trump now that he has officially reclaimed the White House?
While we may never have the answers to those questions, we have Donald Trump to thank for fighting for those who do not have voices.
We are happy to see Meta taking a step in the right direction -- regardless of the motive at play.
