What About Those 51 Intelligence Officers?
This is a question I have been waiting on since we found out the Hunter Biden laptop had been authenticated.
When the laptop story initially broke, 51 former intelligence officers, using some government resources, mind you, wrote a letter saying that the laptop had all the signs of Russian disinformation.
Biden and the media used that letter to debunk the story until the laptop was authenticated, but the damage had been done.
Election Interference Charges
Many of those involved in that letter campaign have stated they were doing this to give Joe Biden talking points during the presidential debate.
Not a single one of them had examined the laptop, but they were all supporting Joe Biden for president.
In my eyes, I don’t understand how that was not considered election interference.
Here we are, four years later, and similar letters are being produced to boost Harris (as well as Biden when he was in the race).
Not a single one of the 51 have apologized or retracted their statements, quite the opposite, actually.
Some of them have gone on TV saying they would do it again if the situation arose to keep Trump out of the White House.
Rep. Goldman (D-N.Y.) recently defended the letter and the writers, stating, “These were 51 former officials who did not have access to the FBI evidence files … and so would not have known whether or not there was a real laptop or whether there it was compared [sic], and that’s why, the fact is, that when they said these are hallmarks of a Russian intelligence operation, they were speaking based on their expertise of being long-time public servants, intelligence officials, who have dealt directly with Russian intelligence and their efforts not only to interfere in the 2016 election, but going back decades.
“So, I know my colleagues like to throw around the idea that they lied, they lied, they lied. They had no information. To the contrary, because only the FBI had the laptop in its custody, and nobody else had the laptop.”
But that makes my exact point… without examining the laptop, they had no right to issue that letter. And his that this was not political is a complete joke.
Just ask Fox News’ Bret Baier, who interviewed one of them. The man openly stated he did not regret writing the letter and would do it again in a heartbeat.
John Sipher, a former CIA officer who signed the letter, said he took a “special pride in personally swinging the election away from Trump.”
When he realized what he admitted, he walked it back and said he was just being sarcastic. Yes, and Tim Walz merely misspoke about his China trips and his rank when he retired.
The hope of holding these corrupt officials accountable, for now, is over, as the complaint filed by Trump with the FEC was rejected.
So, apparently, it is okay to create fake news stories and use your former government position to influence an election. That is the country we live in today.
