Wasteful USDA programs being cut under Trump administration
Government waste is being exposed in a big way under the Trump administration.
Some departments are getting ahead of DOGE by doing their own audits and announcing massive cuts.
To that point, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) just cut tens of millions in contracts that had no right existing under the Biden administration.
Cut It
Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins is completely on board with exposing government waste, having already said she would work with Kennedy to cut junk food from food stamp spending.
She also just trimmed her expenses by about $132 million by cutting completely idiotic contracts from her department.
For instance, she found that the government was spending money on a program for a Brazilian forest and gender consultant as well as a Central American gender assessment consultant.
Let me save them all the trouble... there are two genders. There... the job is done.
Rollins has already eliminated 78 contracts, and she stated that roughly another 1,000 contracts are being reviewed.
The USDA also trimmed 948 employee programs, about 75% of which were specifically for DEI training.
While Democrats are whining about DOGE, she is openly invited Musk to come and help here.
She stated, “I welcome DOGE’s efforts at USDA because we know that its work makes us better, stronger, faster, and more efficient. I will expect full access and transparency to DOGE in the days and weeks to come.”
Rollins also stated that she is evaluating every employee's role so she can start trimming waste and leaning up staffing to save taxpayers more money on salary.
Again, I fully support this and love the fact that people are actually doing their jobs now instead of the status quo.
If I am being perfectly honest, this is why I supported Trump in 2016... I wanted him to bring a wrecking ball to our oversized and overreaching government.
This time around, it looks like Trump is getting it right.
