Washington Post poised to fire political editor Dan Eggen

Shocking news has emerged regarding Washington Post political editor, Dan Eggen.

According to an email written by Eggen, he will be fired from his senior politics editor position at the Post by the end of the year.

“I struggled with how to write this message since there is an element of begging to it that is not particularly attractive. But what the hey: I was informed Monday that I will be removed as senior politics editor at the end of the year. I will leave it to others to explain why,” Eggan wrote.

While we do not know at this time if Eggan will be moved elsewhere within the company, we do know the decision to remove him from his position comes in the wake of great controversy surrounding the way that the Washington Post covered the recent election.

The traditionally left-leaning news outlet failed to give Vice President Kamala Harris an endorsement -- refusing to hand one out to any presidential candidate.

Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon and owner of the Washington Post, said that he felt the news outlet was “failing” to be a trusted source of news.

Bezos went on to note that endorsements can create a “perception of bias” which is something he wants the Post to avoid.

Since that decision occurred, several editorial staff have quit in protest, and the outlet has reportedly lost about 10% of its readers.

We may not ever truly know why Eggan will no longer be the senior politics editor at the Post in the new year.

However, while we can only speculate, we do know that Bezos has reportedly said he wants to hire more conservative writers.

Do you think Kamala Harris' embarrassing loss in 2024 might force news outlets to report things a bit more down the middle instead of carrying (often liberal) bias?

Americans deserve TRUSTWORTHY news sources because we know the corrupt government isn't being honest with us.

Perhaps removing liberals as the gatekeepers of America's media is the best way to ensure we get the truth.
