Walz Under Fire for Extreme Curfew During George Floyd Riots
With Minnesota Governor Tim Walz now installed as the new VP on the ticket, everyone is digging into his past.
One of the things that has popped up is a video of officers and Guard members rolling through a Minnesota neighborhood firing paintballs at residents who were in violation of the curfew.
This did happen, but there is some misinformation about the incident, which I am going to clean up right now.
Light Them Up
So, here is the video that was originally broadcast on local news of someone telling the officers and Guard members to “light them up” because people were outside of their homes during the rioting…

First, this was not COVID-related, and I have seen a lot of claims that this was how Walz was enforcing the COVID lockdown.
This was happening due to the rioting that was taking place after the death of George Floyd, where the streets were literally on fire.
Walz imposed a curfew from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. local time, telling people they could be on their front steps, but if officers came by, they were supposed to follow their commands.
Walz, at the time, stated, "It’s time to rebuild our community and that starts with safety in our streets.
"Thousands of Minnesotans have expressed their grief and frustration in a peaceful manner. But the unlawful and dangerous actions of others, under the cover of darkness, has caused irreversible pain and damage to our community.
“This behavior has compromised the safety of bystanders, businesses, lawful demonstrators, and first responders. Now, we come together to restore the peace."
Trump actually supported Walz's actions at the time, posting on X on April 20, 2020: “Received a very nice call from @GovTimWalz of Minnesota. We are working closely on getting him all he needs, and fast. Good things happening!”
Now, this does not take away from some of the bizarre statements that were made about the rioting, especially by Walz’s wife, who claimed they left the windows open to smell the burning tires.
There is plenty to go after Walz on, so I want to make sure you guys have the facts and attack his properly rather than spreading false narratives that are being blasted all over social media right now.
Unlike Democrats, every attack we levy has to be accurate, or the media will rip us apart and use it against Republicans in the upcoming election.
Like it or not, I will always tell you guys the truth to the best of my ability because that is how we will defeat the Dems in November.
