Walz Family Members Will Be Backing Donald Trump

Over the last few days, a picture of people claiming to be members of Walz’s family has been going around.

It is getting a lot of attention because they are wearing Trump shirts and did not have very nice things to say about Harris’ VP pick.

Now everyone is trying to figure out if they are really Walz’s family or if this is just some crazy political stunt.

We Don’t Like Him

It turns out, it is probably a little bit of both.

Tim Walz’s sister, Sandy Deitrich, was asked about the picture and she said she had no idea who the people were.

The original picture was posted on X by Charles Herbster, a former candidate for governor in Nebraska who had Trump’s endorsement in the 2022 campaign.

The post went viral, then Trump reposted the picture on Truth Social…

It turns out, the people in the picture are distant cousins of Tim Walz from Nebraska.

The family issued a statement:

“Shortly after Governor Tim Walz was named the Democrat Party Vice Presidential nominee, our family had a get-together. We had t-shirts made to show support for President Trump and J.D. Vance and took a group picture. That photo was shared with friends, and when we were asked for permission to post the picture, we agreed.

“The picture is real. The shirts are real. We are the Nebraska Walz family and we are related to Gov. Tim Walz, our grandfathers were brothers. The message on the shirts speaks for itself, “Nebraska Walzs for Trump.”

When asked about the statement, Deitrich responded, “We weren’t close with them. We didn’t know them.”

So, this is like your fourth cousin in California that you never met coming out of the woodwork to say something negative about you.

It’s a great headline, but does it really have any teeth?

I guess that is for the voters to decide.

There is one story that is more telling, however, and that is the opinion of Tim’s brother, Jeff.

Jeff Walz had stated, “The stories I could tell. Not the type of character you want making decisions about your future.”

Then his phone started to blow up for interview, and when he talked to News Nation, he ended up walking back the statement, saying that he was still irked at his brother’s VP candidacy, but he did not want to influence anyone’s vote and he does not want to be involved in anyone’s campaign.

My guess is that he received a phone call telling him to keep his mouth shut for the remainder of the election.
