Victim of Hate Crime Commends Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg

Joseph Borgen was the victim of an anti-Semitic attack by Mohammed Othman while heading to a pro-Israel rally.

Othman eventually pleaded out the case to second-degree assault.

He was recently sentenced, receiving a 66-month sentence, with Borgen praising Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg in the process.

Strong Message

After the sentence was issued, as well as Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Felicia Mennin adding five years of post-release supervision, Borgen stated, “I think it sends a strong message about what happened.

“Considering what we see going on in the city these days in terms of other incidents and other crimes, I’m more than satisfied with the result we got.”

Borgen was brutally attacked that day, having been hit with pepper spray, punched, kicked, and struck with a crutch. He suffered a concussion, an injured wrist, and a blackeye. He also needed surgery to repair his wrist.

Borgen was also complimentary of Bragg’s office, stating, “Throughout the entire process, the ADA [assistant district attorney] who I was dealing with—we had a direct line. We could call one another to share information, and there was always an open line of dialogue.

“While initially it wasn’t smooth sailing, I have to commend the efforts of the DA’s office, because at the end of the day, we did get strong results in these cases.”

So, here is the question…

How many of these types of cases is Bragg’s office neglecting over the indictment made against Donald Trump?

Bragg’s case is one of the weaker cases Trump is facing and when compared to like cases, is complete and utter nonsense.

Bragg stacked ledger entries as individual charges rather than grouping them together in one charge, which is not typical.

In the majority of these cases, a fine and a slap on the wrist would be issued, but Bragg decided to file a 34-count indictment against Trump.

Perhaps Bragg should get back to prosecuting actual criminals to protect the people of New York and stop looking to grab big headlines by stacking charges to go after Trump… just saying.
