Parents in Virginia today are probably giving Governor Youngkin a big pat on the back.
Youngkin, a Republican, announced that he would be pardoning Scott Smith, reported CNN.
If you recall, Smith was arrested in 2021 at a school board hearing when he went ballistic over the coverup of the rape of his daughter.
You are Pardoned
While the pardon had been anticipated for several days, Governor Youngkin made it official on Sunday.
Smith had been arrested at a school board meeting in 2021 after going nuclear over the rape of his daughter.
Smith's daughter was raped by a boy in a girl's skirt who was permitted to use the girl's bathroom because of the existing transgender policy followed by the school.
Youngkin stated, "In Virginia, parents matter and my resolve to empower parents is unwavering. A parent's fundamental right to be involved in their child's education, upbringing, and care should never be undermined by bureaucracy, school divisions, or the state.
"I am pleased to grant Scott Smith this pardon and help him and his family put this injustice behind them once and for all."

Smith had been charged with two misdemeanors: obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct, which is utterly ridiculous when considering the events that took place.
His outburst actually kicked open the door to reveal that other assaults had taken place and had been kept quiet by the school board.
Smith has called for the firing of Stone Bridge and Broad Run high school principals, as well as Deputy Superintendent Ashley Ellis and division counsel Robert Falconi due to his arrest and the assault against his daughter.
If you recall, this incident got Republicans all fired up about investigating these school board meetings.
It also eventually led to the GOP learning that the FBI was not only investigating some parents but also using terrorist tags in those investigations.
