Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry has the pleasure of appearing before Congress this week.
Like every other Biden official, he was caught lying through his teeth.
Kerry's appearance, however, was especially pleasing because those lies were accompanied by a complete and utter meltdown.
Your Facts…
Republicans were hammering Kerry on his use of a private jet and the fact that his family previously owned a private jet.
Kerry pushed back, stating, "I just don't agree with your facts, which began with the presentation of one of the most outrageously persistent lies that I hear, which is this private jet.
"We don't own a private jet. I don't own a private jet. I personally have never owned a private jet.
"And obviously it's pretty stupid to talk about coming in a private jet from the State Department up here. I just honestly, if that's where you want to go, go there."
So, here we go with semantics… again.
Kerry's family does not own a private jet now, but they did when he first took the position. In fact, his life owned a private jet leasing company.
Even the idea of Kerry not owning a private jet is a bit of a stretch, as he did have a notable stake in Flying Squirrel LLC, which was the charter company owned by his wife, Teresa Heinz-Kerry.
In a 2022 Fox News Digital report, the Gulfstream jet that was owned by Kerry's family had taken "48 trips lasting more than 60 hours and emitted an estimated 715,886 pounds, or 325 metric tons, of carbon since President Biden was sworn into office."
The family since then has sold the jet, so, technically, Kerry is accurate in what he said, but that was clearly not the case when he first took on this position.
There is also the fact that while pushing climate change, Kerry regularly flew private, something he said was necessary at the time. Since the media coverage, Kerry has dialed back his private jet use and makes sure to post pictures from commercial airlines whenever he travels.
The State Department defended Kerry with another lie, stating, "Secretary Kerry has never owned a private jet, flies commercially, and is actively working on initiatives like the First Movers Coalition, which has helped major airlines like Delta and United in their commitment to invest in sustainable aviation fuels that reduce greenhouse pollution while allowing Americans to continue to enjoy travel.
"Secretary Kerry has never owned any stake in Flying Squirrel LLC."
Well, his financial disclosure forms say otherwise.
One last tidbit… when Kerry was asked if he had flown private while working for the Biden administration, he stated that it happened "maybe once," but Kerry himself was already on the record defending flying private.
Per Fox News, "In 2019, he told Icelandic reporter Jóhann Bjarni Kolbeinsson that he has to 'fly to meet with people and get things done.'"
So, again, we have a Biden official lying under oath before Congress, and the last time I checked, that is a crime.
