US Comedian Tou Ger Xiong Murdered in Columbia

A popular comedian and activist, Tou Ger Xiong, was recently murdered in Columbia.

Xiong had been seen only days before having a great time at a concert, having traveled to Columbia to meet a woman that he had met online.

His body was discovered in what authorities now believe was a honeytrap scheme.

From Good Times to Bad

Just days before his dead body was found, Xiong was at the Karol G concert in Medellín.

From the videos he shot and posted, he was having one heck of a time at the concert.

The United States Embassy has warned American tourists about these honeypot scams, but Xiong, who was living in Minnesota, apparently thought he found the real thing.

About a week after the concert, Xiong had planned on meeting a woman that he met online for a date, but he ended up getting beaten and kidnapped, with his body found dumped in a ravine.

These “women” find wealthy people online and lure them in, only for them to be attacked and robbed by local gangs, and in this case, killed.

The US Embassy in Bogota stated, “One of the most popular methods to target unsuspecting individuals is through online dating applications.

“Foreigners are routinely targeted through online dating applications or in bars and nightclubs.”

Targets are often drugged with scopolamine (an odorless, tasteless, memory-blocking substance that puts the victim in a trance-like state), at which point they are powerless to do anything to their attackers.

It is unclear at this point if the drug was used in the attack against Xiong.

According to Xiong’s brother, Eh, the kidnappers demanded $2,000 to release his brother. He further stated that police do have one suspect in custody on charges related to Xiong’s death.

Also, when police went to the location where Xiong was staying, they encountered a woman taking items from the apartment, but she ran away before they could take her into custody.
