Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) just dropped a nuclear bomb on the 2024 presidential election.
Believe me when I say that if I were Joe Biden, I would be extremely worried right now.
Manchin hinted that he may be considering a third-party run at the White House with the No Labels centrist group, reported The Hill.
Upending the Election
Manchin was the headliner at the No Labels "Common Sense" Town Hall this week at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College.
The fact that Manchin is even in New Hampshire during campaign season should be reason enough to worry for the Biden camp.
Manchin told the crowd, "I've never been in any race I've ever spoiled. I've been in races to win. And if I get in the race, I'm going to win," reported Fox News.
Manchin has yet to commit to a 2024 re-election bid for his Senate seat, and perhaps this is why.
Manchin burned his bridges with conservatives when he signed on to Joe Biden's ridiculous spending plan via reconciliation, something he promised never to do.
His efforts to block Biden in recent months have fallen on deaf ears because he has burned conservatives so many times.
Point being, if Manchin does run, it will not take away from the eventual GOP candidate.
Correction, there will obviously be some votes lost to Manchin, but it will hardly have the impact on the GOP as it would on Biden. I would even venture so far as to say that someone like Manchin, with the right VP, possibly someone like Tulsi Gabbard, would likely garner just as many votes as Biden.
Manchin loves to project himself as the savior, which really annoys me about him, and he did it again at this conference, telling the crowd, "I'm not here running for president tonight. I'm trying to save the nation."
There are plenty of people that buy that nonsense, however, and there are a lot of Democrats who want nothing to do with Joe Biden again in 2024.
Trust me, if Manchin runs, this dramatically changes the race in a way that could wreck the Democrat Party.
