TV Star Arrested On Child Solicitation Charges

Connor Smith, who was once a star of MTV, has FINALLY been arrested.

It sounds like he deserved it.

Smith starred in the 2015 season of MTV’s reality dating show Are You the One?

However, while Smith went on the show to date women his own age, it appears he may have a more sinister taste when it comes to his preferences.

Smith has been wanted by police for over a year for child solicitation charges after he attempted to meet up with a young girl in a mall parking lot.

The Lake County Deputy Chief, Christopher Covelli, released a statement on the event that led to Smith being arrested over a year later.

“Connor Smith kept engaging this girl in communication, in conversation, eventually sending lewd photos of himself to who he thought was this girl, really an undercover detective, and then worked out a plan to meet who he thought was this girl to engage in a sexual relationship,” said Covelli at the time in a Fox news report.

“It’s a nationwide warrant so he can be arrested anywhere in the country and he’ll be extradited back to Lake County to face the charges,” Covelli also said.

Police never stopped searching for Smith.

Now, Smith has been located in a suburb of Chicago and taken into custody where he will finally face his crimes.

Protecting children must be held of the utmost importance and we are so proud of the police protecting children from harm.

The police pursuing Smith definitely went above and beyond to catch him.

Now, thanks to their hard work, the world is one step closer to being safe for our children.

We know there is a long way to go, but small victories like the arrest of Smith is worth celebrating.

Great job to all law enforcement involved!
