TSA Boss Dismissed by Donald Trump
Donald Trump got to use his famous tagline on his first day in office.
Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) chief David Pekoske was given the boot on day one.
Pekoske has been serving as the head of the TSA since 2017.
Big Mistake
Trump actually nominated Pekoske for this role during his first term in office. Biden allowed him to stay on after his first term had been completed, giving him another five-year term.
Pekoske’s fate was sealed, however, when it was leaked that TSA had placed Tulsi Gabbard on its watch list “Quiet Skies.”
Gabbard went nuclear when she found out she was on the list, stating at the time, “The TSA placed me on the Quiet Skies domestic terror watchlist in what I can only describe as the ultimate betrayal.
“The Harris-Biden regime has now labeled me a domestic terror threat. Why? They see me as a threat to their power.”
When lawmakers found out about it, they quickly pressured Pekoske to remove her from the list, but as I stated above, his fate was sealed at this point.
Pekoske informed staffers on January 20 that he was relieved of his post.
In his letter to staffers, in part, he stated, “This morning, I was advised by President-elect Trump’s transition team that my time as your Administrator will end at noon ET today.
“I will sincerely miss being part of this amazing agency and having the opportunity to serve alongside this incredible team. It has been an honor of a lifetime! I leave with the utmost respect for you and immense pride in what we have accomplished together since August 2017.”
As of this report, the Trump team has not made mention of who will be picked to replace Pekoske at TSA.
Trump also dismissed acting Homeland Security Secretary Benjamine Huffman and relieved Adm. Linda Fagan of her duties as commandant of the Coast Guard.
