Trump's Gaza Strip proposal

On Tuesday, during a news conference in Washington with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump expressed his intention to demolish the residual structures in Gaza and transform the territory under U.S. "ownership."

He suggested that the seaside enclave be converted into a resort that would attract visitors from all over the world, and that Palestinians be relocated from Gaza to Egypt and Jordan, as Breitbart News reported.

"You'll make that into an international, unbelievable place. I think the potential and the Gaza Strip is unbelievable,” Trump said.

“And I think the entire world, representatives from all over the world, will be there, and they'll live there. Palestinians also, Palestinians will live there. Many people will live there."

On Wednesday, Trump's press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, stated that the United States must participate in the reconstruction of Gaza to guarantee stability in the region.

"That does not mean boots on the ground in Gaza," she said.

Also, according to Leavitt, Trump wants the Palestinians residing in Gaza to be "temporarily relocated" so that the territory can be rebuilt.

Size of The Gaza Strip

Gaza Strip is 2 5 miles in length and a maximum of 6 miles in width. Geographically, it is situated between the Mediterranean Sea to the west, Egypt's Sinai Peninsula to the south, and Israel to the north and east.

It is slightly larger than the island of Malta and encompasses 139 square miles, which is just over twice the size of Washington D.C., according to the CIA World Factbook.

Drive time from the northern to southern extremities of Gaza was 30 to 40 minutes prior to the commencement of Israel's conflict with Gaza in October 2023.

Occupants of the Gaza Strip

Palestinian figures released in January, Gaza's population has decreased by 6%, or approximately 160,000 individuals, to 2.1 million since the conflict with Israel commenced 16 months ago.

According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, approximately 100,000 Palestinians evacuated the enclave, and over 55,000 are believed to have perished.

The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported that approximately 45,500 Palestinians, including over half of them women and children, have been killed since the conflict commenced. However, an additional 11,000 individuals are missing, according to the bureau.

The data was "fabricated, inflated, and manipulated in order to vilify Israel," according to the foreign ministry of Israel.

In Gaza, Israel has been accused of genocide due to the extent of the death and devastation that resulted from its military campaign.
