Trump’s Former CEO Sentenced to 5 Months in Jail

A former Trump associate, who many on the right believe was railroaded in an effort to get to Trump, has just been delivered some bad news.

Former Trump CFO Allen Weisselberg has been sentenced to five months in jail.

Weisselberg was sentenced after having admitted that he had lied during a previous Trump civil suit.

Railroaded

Weisselberg lied under oath regarding benefits he had received from the Trump organization that had been kept off the books.

Some of those perks were a rent-free apartment in Manhattan as well as tuition benefits for his grandchildren.

He was caught in the web during New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation into Donald Trump’s alleged business fraud.

When Weisselberg was first charged, many believed his prosecution was nothing more than a way for James to put pressure on him to turn on Trump to give her the evidence she needed to go after the former president, as she had promised during her campaign for attorney general.

As part of his plea deal, Weisselberg had stated that it was not a mistake but a purposeful statement when Trump listed his Trump Tower triplex in Manhattan as being 30,000 sq. ft. instead of the 11,000 sq. ft. it actually is.

James has used Trump’s alleged exaggeration of his holdings to charge him with fraud.

According to James, Trump knowingly overstated his assets to secure better terms for loans he received for his business ventures.

Weisselberg’s testimony also played a significant role in another case that resulted in the Trump organization being fined $1.6 million.

After the sentence was handed down, Weisselberg’s attorney, Seth L. Rosenberg, stated, “Allen Weisselberg accepted responsibility for his conduct and now looks forward to the end of this life-altering experience and to returning to his family and his retirement.”

Trump’s hush-money trial is along the same lines, with Trump having been indicted on 34 counts regarding the alleged coverup of $130,000 in payments to Stormy Daniels to remain quiet about their alleged relationship heading into the 2016 election.
