Trump Watches Woke Bishop’s Sermon in Disbelief

The prayer service during Donald Trump’s inauguration did not quite go as planned.

Marianne Budde, the Episcopal Bishop of Washington, turned the prayer service into a political activist’s rant, asking Trump to show “mercy” on the LGBTQ+ community and illegal immigrants.

Trump was livid after the service, demanding an apology.

Show Them Mercy

As the Bishop went on her rant, claiming that she knew transgenders who now feared for their lives with Trump coming into office, the camera panned to a stone-faced Trump.

He, Melania, and the Vances sat in the first row, but you could see their blood boiling over the sermon given by the Bishop.

During the sermon, Bishop Budde stated, “I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country that are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and Independent families, some who fear for their lives.

“The people who pick our crops, and clean our office buildings, who labor in poultry farms and meat packing plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants, and work the night shifts in hospitals, they might not be citizens or have the proper documentation.

“The vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. I ask you to have mercy Mr. President on those in communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away.”

When Trump was later asked about the service, he responded, “What did you think? Did you like it? Did you find it exciting? Not too exciting, was it? I didn't think it was a good service, no. They could do much better.”

Trump later added, “She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way. She was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart.

“Apart from her inappropriate statements, the service was a very boring and uninspiring one. She is not very good at her job! She and her church owe the public an apology!”

This was not the time or place to make a political statement, but that is what the church has become in modern times.

While the Pope lives behind guarded walls, he chides Trump for wanting to enforce our borders.

And now we have a bishop using talking points that are simply not true, which is not a surprise because liberals these days only hear what they want to hear.

Suddenly, after four years of sitting on their hands, they are all up in arms again.

After a calm election and a calm inauguration, I was hoping we could start to turn the page, but it is quite clear that the liberal horde is rested and ready for outrage over the next four years.
