Scott Responds to Trump VP Rumors

Ask Donald Trump about Ron DeSantis, he will start ripping off insults even though DeSantis is one of the most successful and popular Republican governors in the country.

Ask Donald Trump about Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), and he is full of gushing compliments.

For that reason, there is speculation that Scott may be atop Trump's potential VP list.

What Do You Think…

While we are speculating who the ideal VP would be for a Trump or DeSantis ticket, it is pretty bold to ask them to comment on someone else that is in the race or, for that matter, to ask someone else that is in the race if they would serve as a VP.

Trump and Scott were both asked that question, and to both of their credit, they handled the question with class.

When Trump was asked about Scott, he stated, "I think he's a very good guy. And we did opportunity zones together. It's never been talked about. It's one of the most successful economic development things ever done in this country. And Tim is very good. I mean, I could see Tim doing something with the administration, but he's in right now campaigning… But Tim is a talented guy, and you have other very talented people," reported Fox News.

That answer was about as good as it could have possibly been for Trump.

He complimented Scott, and sang his praises, but did not demean him by giving a yes or no on the VP questions, which would have silently stated that Scott had no chance of winning.

Scott also treated the question well, stating, "I will simply say this — the former president is a good guy. We get along really well. At the end of the day, I am running because I believe America can do for anyone what she has done for me. We're going to continue to restore hope, create opportunities, and protect the America we love."

Scott lightened the mood, stating, "I think he's overqualified to be my vice president."

I have long been a fan of Scott, but I have also stated that he jumped the gun on this.

What I do believe, however, is that if Trump puts Scott on the ticket, he would immediately jump to the front of the line for presidential favorites in 2028 as well as giving Trump a huge boost in the 2024 election.

In my opinion, Scott is the ideal VP selection for Trump in this political environment.
