Trump VP Favorite Kristi Noem Banned by Oglala Sioux Tribe

Due to a recent interview given by Trump, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has soared atop the favorites list as a possible VP choice for Donald Trump.

While that announcement is likely at least a month away from happening, Noem may have a mess to clean up before Trump makes his final decision.

After openly supporting Texas at the border, the Oglala Sioux Tribe has banned Noem from its lands.

She’s Not Welcome

After two consecutive months of massive numbers at the border, Governor Abbott has been forced into a state of war with the Biden administration.

Biden wanted the razor wire removed from border entry points, but Abbott had defied the order, even after Biden won a lawsuit requiring Abbott to follow federal orders.

If the government removes the wiring, Abbott has vowed to put it back in place, and Noem said she would help.

The VP hopeful stated, “The United States of America is in a time of invasion. The invasion is coming over our southern border. The 50 states have a common enemy, and that enemy is the Mexican drug cartels.

“They are waging war against our nation, and these cartels are perpetuating violence in each of our states, even right here in South Dakota.”

That resulted in Tribe President Frank Star Comes Out telling Noem she was no longer welcome.

He stated, "Due to the safety of the Oyate, effective immediately, you are hereby Banished from the homelands of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.”

Noem fired right back, "My focus continues to be on working together to solve those problems. As I told bipartisan Native American legislators earlier this week, ‘I am not the one with a stiff arm here. You can’t build relationships if you don’t spend time together.’

"I stand ready to work with any of our state’s Native American tribes to build such relationships."

From a PR perspective, this is a disaster for Noem, but it could help her with Trump, as he thrives on controversy.

In the latest VP odds, Noem is now in second place, behind only Rep. Stefanik (R-N.Y.), but she is climbing and well ahead of Tim Scott, who was also mentioned by Trump during a recent interview.
