Trump Vows to Mass Deport Illegals on Day One
Very early on in this campaign, Donald Trump vowed that he was going to mass deport a huge number of the illegals who were permitted to enter the country during the Biden administration.
Many Republicans ran on that as well, with Speaker Johnson (R-LA) backing Trump up on the claim.
After being elected, Trump confirmed that he was not backing down on mass deportation.
They're Gone
During the Biden administration, it is estimated that at least eight million illegals have been permitted to enter the country.
Some of them were technically "legal" due to programs that Biden put in place, such as the asylum app that allowed many people to be granted asylum that would have never been given it otherwise.
When Speaker Johnson was recently asked about this again, he estimated that something in the neighborhood of four to five million would be deported.
The Trump campaign confirmed this, with Axios reporting, “Trump will begin operations to deport millions of undocumented immigrants when he starts his term, campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Wednesday morning.
“He’ll launch the ‘largest mass deportation operation’ of undocumented immigrants on day one.”
The last mass deportation that took place in this country was in the 1950s when Ike sent back about 1.2 million.
This is a topic that has some people cowering and afraid to speak their minds, but that would not be me.
Some have suggested that they could be deported and offered a path back legally, but I disagree.
If they took advantage of the situation and entered this country illegally, I think they should be sent back and banned from ever stepping foot in this country again.
I have said it time and again... if you want to deter illegal immigration, this is the way to go.
