Trump Suggests Replacing Trudeau with Wayne Gretzky
It is no secret that Donald Trump does not exactly like Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, and I am sure Trudeau feels likewise.
That being the case, and considering the turmoil in Canada right now, Donald Trump suggested replacing Trudeau.
His suggestion is former NHL legend Wayne Gretzky.
Let Wayne Have a Shot
Trump offered his suggestion via Truth Social, posting, "I just left Wayne Gretzky, ‘The Great One as he is known in Ice Hockey circles. I said, ‘Wayne, why don’t you run for Prime Minister of Canada, soon to be known as the Governor of Canada - You would win easily, you wouldn’t even have to campaign.’
"He had no interest, but I think the people of Canada should start a DRAFT WAYNE GRETZKY Movement. It would be so much fun to watch!"
PMs in Canada are chosen by the controlling party, not voters. After the parliament election, the controlling party usually nominates the party leader as the PM. So, Trump may want to brush up on his knowledge of international elections before posting again.
The governor tout is because Trump has suggested that Canada join the United States to become the 51st state.
The tie to Gretzky, in case you were wondering, comes via PGA golfer Dustin Johnson, who is married to Gretzky’s daughter.
Johnson has been friends with Trump for years, and is often seen on social media playing golf with Donald Trump.
He has also attended numerous functions at Mar-a-Lago as Trump’s guest.
I don’t really see Gretzky giving up his posh life for politics, but make no mistake about it, Trudeau is on his final lifeline in Canada, as his constituents are fed up with high taxes and his woke agenda.
If his party manages to stay in control in the next election, which is currently scheduled for October 25, 2025, I doubt the party will continue to keep Trudeau in power as the PM.
Quite frankly, it would not shock me one bit if they force his resignation before the election takes place as a way to show voters they are doing what they need to in order to stay in power.
