The whispers are starting to be heard about who Trump will choose as his VP candidate if he gets the nod.
I will go out on a limb right now and say that DeSantis is out of the question considering the attacks that Trump has launched against him. Honestly, if DeSantis did agree to be Trump’s VP, I would lose some respect for him.
I have always thought that Trump would choose a woman anyway, just not the one that people are talking about right now.
The Short List
According to an Axios report, Lake is on a very short list of candidates that Trump is considering for his VP if he gets the nod.
As I suspected, the entire list is of women, according to Fox News. Trump knows he has to win back suburban women to win a national election, but I doubt Lake is the person to do that for him.
She is a mini-me version of Trump, right down to the election fraud, so I am not sure if she would be the right choice for him. After all, she failed to win her election, so exactly what benefit does she bring to the table as a VP candidate.
If I were Trump I would be looking at both Nikki Haley and Governor Kristi Noem. They are much better known personalities and much bigger followings, especially Governor Noem.
Trump has to think beyond his own term here because if Trump wins the general election, his VP is on the fast track to become the lead candidate in 2028. I don’t see the country voting for Lake as the first duly elected female president of the United States.
Trump’s camp has denied the report, with spokesperson Steven Cheung stating, "Anyone who thinks they know what President Trump is going to do is seriously misinformed and trying to curry favor with ‘potential’ V.P. candidates."
Lake is also denying this, saying she has other things going on right now. She responded to the report, "I am 100% dedicated to serving as Arizona governor. I will also work to make sure President Trump gets back in the White House ASAP. Anything outside of those two goals is nothing but a distraction.
"Our best days are ahead of us, and it all starts with electing America First candidates all across this country.”
And let’s not forget, before Lake became the female version of Trump, she was crushing him in the media, and every word of that is documented and would be used against the ticket in a general election.
Please, Mr. Trump… if you win the nomination, do NOT add Lake to your ticket.
