Trump Says Wray Resignation is a ‘Great Day for America’
It’s official… FBI Director Wray has announced that his resignation will take effect before Donald Trump assumes office as the 47th president of the United States.
The news was good in MAGA world, as Wray, even though Trump appointed him, has been a menace in terms of the MAGA world.
Trump called it a “great day,” and I tend to agree with him.
It’s a Good Day for the Country
There were very high hopes when Donald Trump nominated Wray to replace James Comey as the Director of the FBI.
If you go back and look at the comments at the time, you would be challenged to find a negative word said by anyone after Trump made the announcement.
It took about 10 seconds of Wray being in office to show that he was just another lifelong bureaucrat who was part of the establishment.
I have often stated, if you were to ask Trump his top five mistakes from his first administration, Wray would be on that list every time.
Wray stated, "After weeks of careful thought, I’ve decided the right thing for the bureau is for me to serve until the end of the current administration in January and then step down.
"My goal is to keep the focus on our mission — the indispensable work you’re doing on behalf of the American people every day. In my view, this is the best way to avoid dragging the bureau deeper into the fray while reinforcing the values and principles that are so important to how we do our work."
In hearing that Wray announced he would be stepping aside, Trump responded, "The resignation of Christopher Wray is a great day for America as it will end the weaponization of what has become known as the United States Department of Injustice.
"I just don’t know what happened to him."
Trump continued, "Under the leadership of Christopher Wray, the FBI illegally raided my home, without cause, worked diligently on illegally impeaching and indicting me, and has done everything else to interfere with the success and future of America.
"They have used their vast powers to threaten and destroy many innocent Americans, some of which will never be able to recover from what has been done to them."
Trump has nominated Kash Patel to replace Wray, a nominee I was not confident in getting by the Senate at first, but he seems to be gaining steam on that front.
Upon nominating Patel, Trump stated, "Kash Patel is the most qualified nominee to lead the FBI in the Agency’s History, and is committed to helping ensure that Law, Order, and Justice will be brought back to our Country again, and soon.
"As everyone knows, I have great respect for the rank-and-file of the FBI, and they have great respect for me. They want to see these changes every bit as much as I do but, more importantly, the American People are demanding a strong, but fair, system of justice."
Unlike many on the right, I still have faith in the FBI, just not its leadership, but I have the benefit of personally knowing dozens of past and present agents, so I know the heart of the actual agents on the ground is in the right place.
Having said that, we need to make sure this rogue element that politicized the agency is gone for good once Patel takes over. Maybe then, the FBI can go back to the elite of all law enforcement agencies in the world.
