Trump says Musk will shut down corruption in Department of Education and Pentagon

Donald Trump has high hopes for Elon Musk and the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Trump recently said that he expects Elon Musk and the rest of DOGE to find and shut down millions of dollars in fraud and abuse at America's Department of Education, according to Breitbart.

Donald Trump added that uncovering and snuffing out corruption in the military is next after taking care of the Department of Education.

Sunday, in a preview of his Super Bowl pregame show interview, Donald Trump said that Elon Musk has been finding fraud and abuse in the government.

Trump began, "I don’t know if it’s kickbacks or what’s going on, but look, I ran on this, and the people want me to find it. And I’ve had a great help with Elon Musk, who’s been terrific."

Many Americans are questioning whether Elon Musk is any more trustworthy than the corrupt politicians and businessmen in this country.

Fox News chief political anchor Brett Baier asked Trump, "Bottom line, you say you trust Elon Musk?"

"Trust Elon? He’s not gaining anything. In fact, I wonder how he can devote the time to it," Trump responded.

"He’s so into it. But I told him, do that — and I’m going to tell him very soon, like maybe in 24 hours, to go check the Department of Education. He’s going to find the same thing. Then I’m going to go to the military. Let’s check the military. We’re going to find billions, hundreds of millions of dollars of fraud and abuse. And, you know, the people elected me on that."

Donald Trump promised to eliminate corruption and pork-barrel spending in our federal government, and many Americans feel as though he's doing a pretty good job of it already.

According to a recent CBS News/YouGov poll, "seven in 10 Americans believe that President Donald Trump is doing exactly what he said he would once back in the White House."

It's a presidential tradition to give a big interview on Super Bowl Sunday.

The 2025 edition of the Super Bowl was Super Bowl LIX.

In the contest, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 40-22.
