Trump Says Meeting with Canadian PM Trudeau Was ‘Very Productive’
One person I am looking forward to Trump dropping the hammer on once he gets into office is Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
I have never liked Trudeau, but he really lost me after saying that he would abide by the ICC ruling to issue an arrest warrant for Israeli PM Netanyahu.
For all his tough talk and pushback against Trump over the years, guess who jumped on a plane to head to Florida to bend the knee after Trump was elected?
Visiting Trump
Trudeau is Biden’s buddy, and he talked a lot of smack about Trump after he left office, but he has apparently had a come to Jesus moment.
After Trump announced sweeping tariffs against Mexico and Canada if the two nations did not help shut down the border, Trudeau could not get on a plane quick enough to visit Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
After the meeting, Trump posted, "We discussed many important topics that will require both countries to work together to address, like the fentanyl and drug crisis that has decimated so many lives as a result of illegal immigration, fair trade deals that do not jeopardize American workers and the massive trade deficit the U.S. has with Canada.
"I made it very clear that the United States will no longer sit idly by as our citizens become victims to the scourge of this drug epidemic, caused mainly by the drug cartels, and fentanyl pouring in from China. Too much death and hardship!"
Senator-elect McCormick (R-PA), who Trump endorsed, posted a picture on his social media account over the weekend during a dinner at Mar-a-Lago with Trudeau snuggled in there nice and close to Trump.
Trump also held a call with Mexico’s president, Claudia Sheinbaum, posting a similar account of that conversation.
Only after that conversation, President Sheinbaum more or less called Trump a liar for his account of their conversation.
Even so, both countries know that Trump loves his tariffs and if they want to avoid them, they are going to have to do their part to shut down the border.
There are a lot of problems in America right now. How many of them do you think Donald Trump will be able to fix?
