Trump Says Jerome Powell Will Be Leaving If He Is Elected

Perhaps you've heard one of Donald Trump's catchphrases before:

"Drain the swamp."

When he says that, this is what he means.

Getting rid of the people who have become comfortable in their jobs and might not be working for the right people anymore.

Too many people employed by America's government start doing things that benefit other elites instead of the people of this country.

Recently, Trump was asked if he was going to keep Jerome Powell as Federal Reserve chairman if he regains the White House.

Trump said that there's no way.

He accused Powell of planning to intervene to help Joe Biden win a second term in the White House.

"No, I wouldn't," Trump claimed.

"I think he's going to do something to help the Democrats, if he lowers interest rates," Trump said, adding:

I think if he lowers interest rates, but you have the potential of having massive inflation again. But it looks to me like he's trying to lower interest rates for the sake of maybe getting people elected.

If Trump does get elected again, these are going to be his decisions to make, and I'm sure Americans would appreciate having somebody in this position who's willing to work for voters, not liberals like Biden.

"We've got six good months of inflation data and an expectation that there's more to come," Trump continued. "Let's be honest, this is a good economy."

Apparently, Trump doesn't think that Powell is that reliable anyway: "I would not reappoint him. I thought he was always late, whether it was good or bad, but he was always late."

Trump said he "can't" tell us now who his pick to replace Powell would be.
