Trump posts Christmas message on social media
Donald Trump issued his annual Christmas message, and it was true to form in the past.
Donald Trump trolled Canada, called Chinese soldiers “wonderful,” and misstated some facts.
In other words, this was classic Trump.
The Message
Trump posted his message on Truth Social, posting, “Merry Christmas to all, including to the wonderful soldiers of China, who are lovingly, but illegally, operating the Panama Canal (where we lost 38,000 people in its building 110 years ago), always making certain that the United States puts in Billions of Dollars in ‘repair’ money, but will have absolutely nothing to say about ‘anything.’
“Also, to Governor Justin Trudeau of Canada, whose Citizens’ Taxes are far too high, but if Canada was to become our 51st State, their Taxes would be cut by more than 60%, their businesses would immediately double in size, and they would be militarily protected like no other Country anywhere in the World. Likewise, to the people of Greenland, which is needed by the United States for National Security purposes and, who want the U.S. to be there, and we will.”
First, there were about 25,000 deaths overall in the construction of the Panama Canal, about 20,000 during the French construction phase, and more than 5,000 when the United States took over construction.
Most of these deaths were due to the tropical conditions, resulting in workers getting diseases such as malaria and yellow fever.
Some historians, however, believe the death toll was several times high, but the number that is documented is about 25,000.
Regarding Trump’s message to Trudeau, the Canadian PM is in hot water right now, as even his party has had about enough of his antics.
The threat by Trump to hit Canada with 25% tariffs is being taken very seriously by the majority party, which is holding on by a thread.
So much so, there is significant talk of removing Trudeau in the hopes of smoothing out this relationship with the United States.
Trump also hammered Biden for commuting the sentences of 37 death row inmates, which, quite frankly, outraged many in our country.
Trump did not include those individuals in his holiday message, instead telling them all to “GO TO HELL!”
It should be interesting to hear the media analyze that message as we head into the new year and the upcoming Trump inauguration.
