Trump Reversal on Royals Likely After Heritage Foundation Upset Melania
There is a little something brewing between the Trump family, the Royals, and the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.
The organization upset Melania after leaking her mother’s visa information.
Now, it appears that Trump will be pulling his previous support of having Prince Harry removed from the country.
The Reversal
As I am sure many of you are aware, Donald Trump has not exactly been complimentary to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over the last few years.
The heat got turned up on that considerably when it appeared that Harry may have lied on his visa documents.
In his recent memoir, Harry admitted to some casual drug use, but if he did not list that on his visa documentation, it could be grounds for him to be deported.
The Heritage Foundation has requested Harry’s information via a Freedom of Information Act request.
But it had also done the same for Melania’s mother, Amalija Knavs, posting all of her documentation online, which was not appreciated by the Trump family.
Melania felt as though the Heritage Foundation was putting her family at risk for no reason, and when Melania is upset, Donald Trump is upset.
Former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond stated, “I understand that Trump himself is in dispute with the Heritage Foundation because it forced the release of immigration records concerning Melania's late mother."
She continued, "He's not a fan of the organization and may be disinclined to help it pursue its accusations over Harry's visa. So that problem may have gone away."
Melania is also apparently seeking legal advice on whether she has options to pursue against the Heritage Foundation for publishing her mother’s information.
I think this falls pretty low on the scale of what most people really care about right now, so I doubt the Trump reversal in attitude on this will really hurt him with his base.
I think he and Americans believe he has much more important issues to attack once he gets behind the Resolute Desk again.
