Trump Returning to Site of First Assassination Attempt for October 5 Rally
On July 13, 2024, Donald Trump had just started his rally when shots rang out.
Trump was clipped in the ear, and several attendees were shot, one fatally.
The shooter was eventually neutralized by snipers, but Trump had some unfinished business, which he plans on correcting on October 5.
We Weren’t Done
Exactly one month before voters head to the polls, Donald Trump will be returning to Butler, PA, the site of the first assassination attempt against him, for another rally.
While the rally has not yet officially been confirmed, campaign insiders revealed the campaign rally to NBC News.
This is the announcement everyone has been waiting on since about two weeks after the failed attempt on Trump’s life.
On July 26, Trump stated he would be back, posting, “I WILL BE GOING BACK TO BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA, FOR A BIG AND BEAUTIFUL RALLY, HONORING THE SOUL OF OUR BELOVED FIREFIGHTING HERO, COREY, AND THOSE BRAVE PATRIOTS INJURED TWO WEEKS AGO. WHAT A DAY IT WILL BE — FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT! STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS.”
We do not know at this time whether President Trump will return to the exact site or hold the rally at a different location, possibly inside.
The Secret Service has recommended that Trump hold indoor rallies, as they are much easier to cover than outdoor rallies.
All eyes will be on the Secret Service, who almost let a second attempt occur.
About two weeks ago, Trump was playing golf when the Secret Service opened fire on a man who was hiding along the fence line.
Once again, the Secret Service whisked Trump away, this time unscathed, but questions started to arise about how someone could possibly lie in wait for 12 hours while Trump was on the course.
Why was there no sweep of the property before Trump arrived? Why was there no overhead drone coverage while he was outdoors?
Let’s just hope they get his protection right this time around.
