Trump new tax plan revealed
Donald Trump has been getting hammered by Democrats, who insist he will put tax cuts into play that will help out all of his rich friends.
Well, Trump unveiled his tax plan this week, and Democrats have quite a bit of egg on their faces now.
According to the White House, this will be the “largest tax cut in history” for middle-class Americans.
The Cuts Are Coming
The plan was confirmed and explained by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who stated, “No tax on tips, which is obviously a very public campaign promise the president made. No tax on seniors’ social security.
“No tax on overtime pay. Renewing President Trump’s 2017 middle-class tax cuts — again, these are the president’s priorities.
“Adjusting the SALT cap. Eliminate all the special tax breaks for billionaire sports team owners. Close the carried interest tax deduction loophole. Tax cuts for Made in America products.
“This will be the largest tax cut in history for middle-class working Americans. The president is committed to working with Congress to get this done.”
I fully support no tax on social security, as there is no way that money should be taxed again, especially since so many seniors live on a fixed budget. Even the smallest increase in income for these seniors can be life-changing.
No tax on tips is idiotic, and there is no way I will ever support it. The policy is being touted as a way to help low-income earners, but they are likely already below the threshold and not paying any or very little taxes.
This will help people in the service industry who are knocking back six figures, and it is hardly fair for those of us working hourly or salary jobs to get taxed while people making the same amount in high-paying tipped jobs not to get taxed.
I would love for someone to explain to me how they can live tax-free but the rest of us have to pay our taxes. Again, there is simply no way I would ever support this. And by the way, when my own senator, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was touting this, I hit him up via email, left a message at his office, and hit him up on social media to explain how this is unfair to workers who do not work in the service industry, and his office refused to contact me and Cruz refused to answer my inquires.
That offer still stands, Senator Cruz, as I would be more than happy to sit down with you to discuss this.
I fully support revoking the tax breaks on sports teams, even though I know it will come back against us in terms of ticket and vending prices. These people are pigs, and that will never change, but they should not be getting these tax breaks.
I fully support lowering taxes on American-made products. We need to promote our own goods, and allow them to be competitively priced.
I do not support no tax on overtime, but there is a caveat to that. I think the income should be taxed, but it should not be overly taxed. For many workers, when they work overtime, their tax rate increases so much, that they make less working overtime than they do for their normal hourly pay, and that is simply not fair.
I would also say that we need to make a provision for bonuses below a certain tax bracket not to be taxed at all. The taxes on these bonuses are ridiculous, and if we are lucky, we bring home about 50-60% of the bonus, which again, is just not fair.
